East Ayrshire Women’s Aid is a charitable organisation dedicated to working towards ending domestic abuse. We offer a confidential service across East Ayrshire to support women, children and young people who are or have experienced domestic abuse.

Who We Are

East Ayrshire Women’s Aid has over 30 years experience of delivering specialist domestic abuse services in East Ayrshire. We are a team of dedicated, trained and experienced staff who work to support women, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse.

East Ayrshire Women’s Aid works from a feminist perspective which recognises violence against women and girls as both a cause and a consequence of gender inequality. We believe that domestic abuse cannot be viewed in isolation from the attitudes, values and structures that greatly influence women’s vulnerability to violence and abuse.

Our services over the last thirty years have been shaped by the women, children and young people that we work with. They are at the centre of everything we do.

We provide a wide range of confidential and community based services delivered in schools, community centres, health centres and partner agency settings. We strive to provide a high quality, effective and needs-led service.

How You Can Help

As a charitable organisations we benefit greatly from the support and generosity of donors and sponsors. Making a donation could help make a difference to the women and children who we support. Running a marathon, doing a bungee jump, organising a pub quiz or baking some biscuits and holding a coffee morning are just some of the ways our supporters have raised funds for us.

£5 could help purchase materials for a child to take part in a children‘s group activity like baking or an arts and crafts project to gain confidence and encourage involvement with others.

£10 could buy a fuel card or provide an emergency pack for a woman fleeing domestic abuse. This could help to provide essential items such as toiletries, nappies and food.

£20 could allow for a woman to take part in an activity with other women in refuge like yoga or stress management to help build her self esteem and health and well-being.

£15 could buty a cleaning pack for a new house.

£25 could buy a mobile phone and top-up, a gardening pack or relaxation treatments for five women.

£50 could buy a kitchen starter pack, fund a family day out or a yoga session in refuge for nine women.

£100 could fund four budget cookery sessions in refuge.

£500 could pay for a fun day out for twenty children and young people.

Every donation, regardless of the amount, will help make a difference to the women, children and young people who access our support and services.
